Speaking to Loop Caribbean at Warner Park after defeating TKR, Gayle said the players took some time to understand this new game, but then it was smooth sailing.

Jamaica’s destructive batsman Chris Gayle said that women appreciated this tournament a lot and he also boasted that his team, Saint Kitts and Nevis Patriots were the first to lift the Universe Boss trophy.

“Even the ladies said this tournament is something for the future. Big up to all the guys who put it together. 6IXTY was a successful one, I’m happy to be on the winning side lifting my own trophy- the Universe Boss Trophy- so that was even more special to me as well.”

Also, when asked what was the secret element that contributed to the success of the STKNP team, Gayle said that they approached the tournament as if they were the defending champions. Also, he was happy to be able to give the local fans a win as they played at home.

“It was a case where we treated it like we were defending champions even though it was the first time having this tournament, we had to look at it and say we have to defend our title. we have the local supporters here so we have to play for them as well. It’s never easy to play in front of the local fans because they want one thing and that’s victory. We’re excited, I’m glad we actually gave that to them.”

Accordingly, Saint Kitts and Nevis Patriots won the first men’s trophy of this 6IXTY tournament, which was introduced for the first time, and Barbados Royal’s women won the women’s trophy.
