Suryakumar Yadav picks his combined squad of MI Cape Town and MI Emirates including 03 West Indies players – Check Full Squad!

Suryakumar, who plays for Mumbai Indians in the IPL, was tasked to form a team comprised of the other two MI franchises.

MI group has two different franchises in T20 cricket named MI Emirates that will play in the UAE-based ILT20 league, while MI Cape Town will play in the South Africa-based SA20 league.

There are some big names across the two teams and Suryakumar Yadav picked up his best combined eleven on Sunday.

MI Emirates and MI Cape Town Combined XI: Suryakumar picked up talented South African youngster Dewald Brevis as one of his openers, who also plays for Mumbai Indians.

Rassie Van Der Dussen is going to partner Brevis at the top. Both players play for MI Cape Town.

He then picked up West Indies southpaw Nicholas Pooran, who will be donning the MI Emirates jersey. England all-rounder Liam Livingstone also made his squad, who will play for MI Cape Town.

Livingstone plays for Punjab Kings in the IPL. Afghanistan spin wizard Rashid Khan, who will captain the MI Cape Town, has made it to SKY’s combined team. But the Indian batter chose Kieron Pollard as his captain, who is also appointed as the skipper of MI Emirates.

IPL’s most expensive player Sam Curran, along with Dwayne Bravo, Jofra Archer, Kagiso Rabada and Trent Boult complete Suryakumar’s XI.

West Indies wicket-keeper batsman Chadwick Walton has signed with a franchise in the inaugural Nepal T20 League.

Nepal T20 League will start on December 23, Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announces on Thursday. The league will start after the Kathmandu team got a new owner in the form of Nepal Sports Venture, a company based in Kathmandu. The new team will be called Kathmandu Knights.

The future of the league was thrown in doubt after Kantipur Media Group-owned Kathmandu Gurkhas withdrew from the tournament two weeks before it was due to start.

CAN, in a bid to find new owners, had said the league would be postponed from December 11, the date it was due to start. Now, with the new owners found, the league will start on December 23 and end on January 10, 2023.

Six teams will take part in the inaugural Nepal T20 League. The teams are Kathmandu Knights, Lumbini All Stars, Biratnagar Super Kings, Janakpur Royals, Pokhara Avengers, and Farwest United.

According to the secondly re-scheduled fixtures of Nepal T20 League 2022, the event will start from 23 December 2022 and will run till 10 January 2023, having 11 January 2023 as the reserve day if the final match of the event can not complete on the 10th January of 2023.

Meanwhile, Janakpur Royals, one of the six franchise teams in the Nepal Twenty20 League, have signed Chadwick Walton as their overseas player. The 37-year-old West Indies batsman and wicketkeeper was happy to join Janakpur Royals. He said,

“I am really excited to be a part of the Janakpur Royals franchise. I am eager to be in Nepal and I can’t wait to get acclimatized and play some exciting cricket.”

Walton has represented West Indies in all three formats of men’s international cricket. Despite his lackluster outings with the national team, the right-handed batsman has flourished in global leagues, representing more than eight teams worldwide.

Janakpur team owner Govind Khandelwal said he is very excited to have someone like Chadwick Walton with vast global experience joining the franchise.

“I am excited to announce the signing of Chadwick Walton as a foreign player for the Royals for the upcoming season. He has vast experience globally, having played in Pakistan Super League, Lanka Premier League, Caribbean Premier League, Bangladesh Premier League, etc. I am hopeful that the Nepalese players will learn from his experience.”

Along with Walton, four other foreign players are under contract with the Janakpur franchise. Coach Umesh Patwal’s side have also brought Adam Lyth, Trevon Abishai Griffth, Raj Rocky Nannan, and Subhashinge Priyanjan.

Walton’s Janakpur begin their Nepal T20 campaign against Pokhara Avengers on December 24.

Nepal T20 League is being organized by Cricket Association of Nepal and is also approved by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The inaugural league will feature 30 overseas players.

Here are West Indies players who have earned PSL 2023 Contracts Through Player Draft

The players’ draft for the 2023 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) took place on Thursday, December 15, in Karachi. Over 500 players took part in the draft. Teams had to pick from the Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, Emerging, and Supplementary categories.

Dwayne Bravo has been named as the ‘brand ambassador’ for the fourth season of the World Cup Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament.

Former West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has been named as the brand ambassador for the fourth season of the 10 PL World Cup Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament to be held in Thane from December 18 to 25.

Bravo will unveil the tournament trophy and jersey on December 7 at a gala dinner in Dubai. For the first two editions, two other World Cup champions, former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram and India’s Virender Sehwag, were the faces of the tournament.

Bravo was an outstanding all-rounder who represented West Indies in 40 Tests, 164 ODIs, and 91 Twenty20 Internationals. Accordingly, he has scored 6423 runs and 363 wickets in 295 international matches.

In addition, he is one of the most highly valued all-rounders in franchises around the world, especially in the IPL, with Bravo claiming 6894 runs and 614 wickets in 556 T20 matches.

Commenting on this, Bravo said,
“This is a unique opportunity for the players to showcase their skills and present a different facet of our great sport.”

Strikes, a new franchise for T10, has selected four players so far and three of them have been named in three categories. Accordingly, former West Indies limited-overs captain, Kieron Pollard (captain) as an Icon player, former England captain Eoin Morgan as a platinum player, Irish player Paul Starling, and Pakistani player Azam Khan have been classified as category A.

03. Team Abu Dhabi
The Team Abu Dhabi franchise has also retained three players and two players have been named as Icon and Platinum. According to that, the players who have been retained are English players Phil Salt and Jamie Overton as well as Afghanistan’s Naveen Ul Haq. The league has seen significant year-on-year growth in viewership and economic value, with the 2021-2022 edition of the tournament reaching 342 million viewers across television and digital streaming compared to approximately 37 million viewers for the 2017 edition, with the league’s economic impact now at US$621.2 million.

The 2022 Abu Dhabi T10 tournament will be played from November 23 to December 4 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, featuring a 10-over-a-side format of 90-minute duration.

Chris Gayle has been selected for the second Edition of the Legends League 2022.

The Legends League cricket competition organized for the first time was held in Oman. It was contested by three teams namely Asian Lions, Indian Maharajas, and World Giants, and led by Misbah ul Haq, Mohammad Kaif, and Darren Sammy respectively.

All sides played each other twice in the round-robin stage and the top two qualified for the final. Accordingly, World Giants and Asian Lions qualified for the finals and Giants won the first season trophy by 25 Runs.

After the successful first edition, the organizers announced that the second season will bring a new dimension. Accordingly, the Legends League cricket tournament, which will be held for the second time, will start on September 16 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Fifteen matches will be played before the final and will be held in the cities of Kolkata, Lucknow, New Delhi, Cuttack, and Jodhpur. Accordingly, four teams will play in this tournament, Bhilwara kings, India Capitals, Manipal Tigers, and Gujarat Giants are the four teams.

To select 59 players from the 79-player draft, the above four teams spend a combined amount of 32 crore rupees (4014438.40USD) and one team spends 08 crores. As per draft rules, franchises have three days to finalize their squad, including any additional picks of the cricket legend along with their existing franchise purse.

Moeen’s signing comes as a surprise as many reports had suggested that he had agreed to be a part of Chennai Super Kings-owned Johannesburg team in South Africa’s new T20 League, which is scheduled in January-February next year.

The inaugural edition of ILT20 will be played in a 34-match format across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, starting from January 2023.

“It has not been easy putting together a squad when the top IPL sides are also in search of players. The players tend to prefer IPL sides, particularly because it may open doors for the IPL. But we are happy with the final composition of the squad. We have a few quality international all-rounders in Moeen, (Mohammad) Nabi and Chris Woakes, in-form batsman in Dawid Malan and explosive opening batter in Evin Lewis.”

The Caribbean all-rounder achieved the feat while playing for Northern Superchargers in their match against Oval Invincibles in the ongoing The Hundred tournament.

Bravo dismissed Rilee Rossouw on LBW before cleaning up Sam Curran for his 600th T20 wicket. The veteran all-rounder, who is adept in varying the pace of the ball, bowled a slower delivery to get rid of Curran in the match.

Soon after claiming his 600th T20 wicket, Bravo celebrated in a unique style. He achieved the feat in the 516th innings of his T20 career. His overall figures were 2 for 29 in the 20 balls bowled.

Bravo is being followed by the likes of Rashid Khan and Sunil Narine who have claimed 466 and 457 T20 wickets, respectively.

Talking about the match, Tom Curran’s outstanding seven-ball 18* kept the Northern Superchargers from winning despite their swift succession of three wickets during the closing overs. Sam’s game-winning hit earned him the Man of the Match honour.

Northern Superchargers posted 157 for 7 batting first in the 100-ball-a-side game.

Adam Lyth top-scored with a 79-run knock off 33 balls, while Bravo had a poor outing with the bat, getting out for a first-ball duck.

For Oval Invincibles, Sunil Narine starred with the ball picking three wickets for 11 runs in the 20 balls bowled.

In reply to Northern Superchargers’ total, the Oval Invincibles reached home with in 97 balls with three wickets in hand.

Sam Curran scored 60 runs off 39 balls while Jordan Cox also helped the team’s cause with his 48-run knock that came off 29 balls.

In the bowling department, Bravo was the pick of the bowlers for the losing team Northern Superchargers.
