Sinclair Star as Imlach XI to massive 143-run win over Motie XI in Guyana Harpy Eagles second practice game

Tevin Imlach XI cruised to a mammoth 143-run victory against Gudakesh Moti XI in the second practice match of the Guyana Harpy Eagles at the National Stadium in Providence with a day to spare.

Kevin Sinclair’s superb all-around effort made a remarkable difference in the match as the right-hander first scored a fighting half-century and then produced a dominant display with a four-wicket haul.

In bowling, Gudakesh Motion XI, off-spinner Richie Lucknath took 4-87 and Gudakesh Motion took 2-33. Set a target of 311, Motie’s XI were bowled out for 167 with Sinclair taking 4-54 and left-arm spinner Antony Adams 4-25.

Anthony Bramble scored 55 runs and opener Rampertab Ramnauth scored 35 runs.

Tevin Imlach XI scored 226 runs in the first innings and in reply Gudakesh Motie XI scored 216 runs. Starting the second innings with a 10-run lead, Imlach XI scored 300 runs. Gudakesh Motie XI was limited to 167 runs in the second innings due to the good bowling of the opponents.

Tagenarine Chanderpaul XI won the first match of the two-match four-day practice tournament and Tevin Imlach XI won the second match.

Following the match, the Guyana Cricket Board’s selection panel announced the 13-man Guyana Harpy Eagles squad and squad list for the first two rounds of the West Indies Cricket Four-Day Championship next month.

The Guyana Harpy Eagles squad: Leon Johnson (C), Veerasammy Permaul (VC), Chandrapaul Hemraj, Matthew Nandu, Kemol Savory, Tevin Imlach, Anthony Bramble, Kevin Sinclair, Nial Smith, Ronsford Beaton, Akshaya Persaud, Ashmead Nedd and Shamar Joseph.

The reserves are: Mavindra Dindyal, Kevlon Anderson, Demitri Cameron, Richie Looknauth and Antony Adams.
