IRE vs WI, Possible Playing XIs; West Indies aim for crucial win To advance to Super 12 in T20 World Cup 2022

West Indies will square off against Ireland in the T20 World Cup 2022 Group B contest on Friday, October 21 at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart.

Nicholas Pooran’s mighty West Indies were one of the favorites to make it through to the next round, but a humiliating defeat in the opening fixture against Scotland has left them needing crucial points in their final game against Ireland.

West Indies beat Zimbabwe in their previous game, but have a lot of work to do to advance to the second round. With a net run rate of -0.275, the WI team is placed third in the points table.

To advance to the next round, West Indies must win their remaining match against Ireland.

Alzarri Joseph has been in excellent form for the West Indies in the World Cup. He finished with figures of 4-0-28-0 against Scotland, although his performance came in a losing cause. Against Zimbabwe, he won the Player of the Match award after he picked up four wickets for 16 runs.

Joseph needs to carry his momentum for the West Indies to advance to the next round.
