The Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Trinbago Knight Riders, Match 28 of the Men’s Caribbean Premier League 2022 played on 24th September and Guyana Amazon Warriors has registered their 3rd straight victory in CPL 2022.
Amazon Warriors defeated Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) by 34 Runs and knocked them out of Playoff hopes. Warriors now has jumped to No 2 in CPL Points Table with 9 points from 9 matches.
TKR on the other hand has 7 from 10 and have finished the League stage at bottom of CPL 2022 Points. The mighty Trinbago Knight Riders have been knocked out. This is the first time that TKR has failed to reach the playoffs.
It’s the Guyana Amazon Warriors who go through, having won their last three matches. Gurbaz set it up with the bat again, and their total of 173 was a strong one.
There was a lot of dew though and defending wasn’t easy. But the spinners were sensational. Tahir, Shakib, SInclair and Motie all tied TKR batsmen to give sensational victory to Warriors.
Trinbago Knight Riders eliminated from the playoff race by the Guyana Amazon Warriors.
For the third time in a row, the Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) have won in the CPL 2022. The warriors eliminated Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) from the Playoff RACE by defeating them by a score of 34 runs. The Warriors have already risen to second place in the CPL Points Table, collecting 9 points from 9 matches. TKR, on the other hand, concluded the LEAGUE stage at the bottom of the CPL 2022 Points Table with seven points.
Early start
Gurbaz had formed crucial alliances with Shai Hope (50 runs) and Shakib (60 runs), laying the groundwork for the Amazon Warriors’ competitive total under challenging circumstances, setting a target of 173/6 in 20 overs.
In response, Knight Riders had made a decent start in their chasing of a target of 174. Tim Seifert and Colin Munro shared an opening partnership of 32 in just over four overs. After that, Munro and Samit Patel collaborated on a 36-run partnership for the second wicket.

Shakib Al Hasan received player of the match for his incredible batting and bowling all-round performance, after the match in the post-match interview Shakib stated “Happy to contribute to the team. The first two games didn’t do well. Today was the night for me. Our team attitude was superb. When we got 170, everyone believed we could win. Gurbaz has been performing magnificently. The way he’s applied himself has been magnificent. His innings gave us a lot of confidence to us. The way Odean and Hetmyer finished gave us the momentum.”
Shakib Al Hasan (35 runs, three wickets, and a run-out) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (60 runs) played critical roles in Guyana Amazon Warriors’ 37-run victory over Trinbago Knight Riders.
