Legends League Cricket 2022: [WATCH] Ashley Nurse smashes 43-ball 103 in Kolkata Against Gujarat Giants

West Indies veteran Ashley Nurse is mostly known for his bowling, but on Saturday, September 17, he put forth his ability with the bat in hand.

The right-hander became only the second batter after Naman Ojha to score a century in the Legends League Cricket.

However, Kevin O’Brien starred with the bat as Gujarat Giants defeated India Capitals by three wickets in the opening match at the Eden Gardens.

After being put into bat, the Capitals were reeling at 74 for six. However, Nurse and Liam Plunkett added 64 runs for the seventh wicket.

Ashley Nurse hit an unbeaten 103 off just 41 balls to steer India Capitals to 179 for seven in 20 overs against Gujarat Giants in the first match of the Legends League Cricket.

Nurse started slowly and scored only 21 runs off his first 17 balls. But after he got his eyes in, he threw the kitchen sink at everything and got to his century off 41 deliveries.

In his knock, Nurse smashed eight fours and as many as nine sixes. From being in a precarious position, the Capitals posted a competitive score on the back of Nurse’s stupendous knock at Eden Gardens.

For Gujarat Giants, Thisara Perera, KP Apanna and Rayad Emrit bagged two wickets each.

Chasing a target of 180, Guajrat Giants chased down the target with eight balls to spare.

O’Brien hit a counter-attacking 107 to set up a narrow win for the Virender Sehwag-led side.
