The hosts won the second Twenty20 match as well. India won the second match by 08 runs and one match remaining in the Twenty20 tournament India won the tournament by 2-0.
Batting first, India scored 186 runs for the loss of only five wickets in the allotted 20 overs. However, the West Indies chased down a target of 187 and were able to score only 178 runs for the loss of only three wickets due to poor management in the allotted 20 overs.
Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell combined for a century as Pooran scored 62 off 41 balls. Powell, who played a fast innings, was unbeaten on 68 off 36 balls.
At a post-match press conference, he said that being stuck in the Power play for a few overs had changed the game.
” I think we got stuck earlier in the power play. we didn’t maximize the power players as you would like but having said that also in the middle of us we didn’t maximize it with the spinners as we’d like but so is the nature of the game and all we have to do as players now is to learn from that.”
However, the West Indies have lost all five of their matches in India so far. Tomorrow is the final Twenty20 match of the tournament.
