Dwayne Bravo, the former West Indies all-rounder, announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Notably, Bravo was plying his trade in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) but his stint was cut short because of his injury after which he opted to retire.
Soon after though, Bravo was announced as the mentor of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
“Today is the day I say goodbye to the game that has given me everything. From the age of five, I knew this was what I wanted to do–this was the sport I was destined to play. I had no interest in anything else, and I dedicated my entire life to you. In return, you gave me the life I dreamed of for myself and my family. For that, I can’t thank you enough,” Bravo wrote in an Instagram post.

Notably, the ongoing CPL 2024 was going to be Bravo’s final season in the CPL. However, the star all-rounder, who has five titles to his name, ended up sustained an injury as he tried to take a catch of Faf du Plessis in the seventh over.
KKR soon shared a welcome message for Bravo. “Say hello to our new Mentor, DJ ‘sir champion’ Bravo! Welcome to the City of Champions,” the IPl 2024 winners wrote on social media.
